Safeguarding Policy
The safety of every child and vulnerable student is central to how Noor e Quran Academy operates. Here is exactly how we protect them online.
Last updated: 22 August 2026
Our Commitment to Safeguarding
Noor e Quran Academy is committed to protecting the welfare of every child and vulnerable adult who learns with us. This policy explains the steps we take to keep students safe during live, one-to-one online Quran lessons, and how to raise a concern if you ever need to.
How We Vet and Check Our Teachers
Every one of our 20+ teachers is DBS-checked before they are allowed to teach, with no exceptions. Many of our teachers also hold an Ijazah, reflecting a recognised standard of Quranic qualification. We only work with teachers we are confident to place in front of children and vulnerable students, one to one.
Safeguarding for Female Students
Female students are always matched with a qualified female teacher. In line with Islamic guidance on non-mahram interaction, a female student is never taught by a male teacher at Noor e Quran Academy. This is a fixed rule of how we operate, not a preference we offer only on request.
Rules for One-to-One Online Lessons
Because every lesson is one-to-one, we put clear rules in place to keep that setting safe:
- All lessons are booked and take place through official Academy channels, using Zoom, Skype, or Google Meet.
- Teachers and students must not exchange personal contact details or communicate outside the agreed lesson platform and official Academy channels.
- Lessons may be periodically monitored or spot-checked by the Academy for quality and safeguarding assurance.
- Any concern raised by a student, parent, or teacher is investigated promptly under this policy.
The Role of Parents and Guardians
Parents and guardians play an important part in keeping online lessons safe. We ask that a parent or guardian registers and manages the account for any student under 18, and remains reasonably available nearby during lessons, particularly for younger children. Parents are always welcome to raise questions about a lesson or a teacher at any time.
Safeguarding Records and Data Protection
Where a safeguarding concern is raised, we keep a confidential record of what was reported and how it was handled, for as long as necessary to protect the student and meet our legal obligations. These records are handled in line with our Privacy Policy and are only accessible to those who need them to manage the concern.
How to Report a Safeguarding Concern
If you have any safeguarding concern, no matter how small it may seem, please contact our Safeguarding Lead straight away:
- Email: info@noorequranacademy.co.uk
- WhatsApp or phone: +44 7828 728362
Every concern is treated confidentially and seriously, and we will always follow up directly with you once a concern has been reviewed. If a child is in immediate danger, always contact UK emergency services on 999 first.
Policy Review
We review this Safeguarding Policy regularly to make sure it reflects how we actually operate. Any updates will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For our wider terms of service, see our Terms and Conditions.
