Our Story
How Noor e Quran Academy Started
Noor e Quran Academy was founded in 2023 around a simple observation. Many UK families wanted their children, or themselves, to learn the Quran properly, but struggled to find teaching that was patient, private, and built around their own schedule rather than a fixed class timetable.
A busy group class at the local masjid can leave a quieter child unheard, and adults starting later in life often feel too self-conscious to read aloud in front of others. We set out to remove both problems at once, by teaching every student live, one-to-one, over video call, matched with a teacher suited to their pace and personality.
Since then, we have taught over 2,000 students from more than 1,000 UK families, delivered over 20,000 lessons, and grown to a team of 20+ DBS-checked teachers, many holding an Ijazah, teaching in English, Urdu, and Arabic. What has not changed is how we treat every new family: the same care and patience we gave our very first student in 2023.

Our Mission and Philosophy
The Prophet ﷺ said, “The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.” That single hadith is why Noor e Quran Academy exists, and it shapes every lesson we teach.
An Authentic Chain of Knowledge
Our teachers carry an unbroken chain of learning back to the Prophet ﷺ, rooted in correct Tajweed and sound Ijazah. We teach the Quran as it was preserved, not as a shortcut or a simplified version of it.
Taught with Sincerity and Patience
Every lesson begins with niyyah, not just a lesson plan. Our teachers are chosen for their character as much as their knowledge, so your child, or you, always feel welcomed, never rushed or judged.
A Lifelong Companion, Not Just a Course
We are not building a course you finish and forget. We are building a relationship with the Quran that stays with your family long after the last lesson ends, insha'Allah.
Leadership

Who Are Our Teachers?
Every one of our 20+ teachers is DBS-checked before they teach a single student, and many hold an Ijazah in their area of teaching. We choose teachers for their character as much as their qualifications, so every lesson feels patient, personal, and safe.
| What Every Teacher Brings | What It Means for Your Family |
|---|---|
| DBS-checked | 100% of our teachers pass a UK Disclosure and Barring Service check before teaching. |
| Ijazah-qualified (many teachers) | A recognised chain of certification in correct Quranic recitation. |
| Male and female teachers | Female students are always matched with a qualified female teacher, never a non-mahram. |
| Fluent in English, Urdu, or Arabic | You choose the language your child, or you, understands and learns best in. |
| One-to-one only | Every lesson is private. No shared group classes, ever. |
| Live video lessons | Taught live on Zoom, Skype, or Google Meet, never a pre-recorded video. |
