Where Most New Muslims Actually Start

You do not need to master Arabic before you pray or study, and nobody expects you to learn everything at once. Here is the order that genuinely works.

1

Wudu and Salah

Learning to pray correctly usually comes first, since the five daily prayers are the foundation everything else is built on. Your teacher walks through wudu and each step of Salah in plain language.

2

Al-Fatiha and the Three Quls

These four short surahs are recited in every prayer, so they're the first memorisation goal. Reading from a transliteration at first is completely normal while the Arabic becomes familiar.

3

Noorani Qaida

Once Salah feels steady, you move into reading the Arabic alphabet properly, so you're no longer relying on transliteration long term.

4

Islamic Studies Basics

Alongside reading, simple grounding in belief, the five pillars, and everyday manners, explained without assuming anything you haven't been taught yet.

No Question Is Too Basic to Ask

Islam is a journey, not a race, and there is no expectation that you arrive already knowing terms or customs nobody explained to you yet. Tap a question new Muslims often ask.

Your teacher walks through the pronunciation slowly, sound by sound, and has you repeat it until it feels natural, exactly the same way every new student learns it.

Frequently Asked Questions

I don't know any Arabic at all. Where do I even start?

Most new Muslims start with Salah rather than Arabic reading, learning Al-Fatiha and the three Quls from a transliteration first. Reading the actual Arabic script comes next, once prayer feels familiar.

Is it okay to ask really basic questions?

Yes, always. Your teacher has taught new Muslims before and never treats a basic question as strange, whatever it's about.

Can I request a female or male teacher specifically?

Yes. You can choose either, and female students are always matched with a qualified female teacher only.

How soon can I learn to pray properly?

Most students learn wudu and the steps of Salah within the first few lessons, with Al-Fatiha and the three Quls following shortly after.

What if my family or those around me aren't supportive?

That's a common situation, and your teacher won't ask about it unless you want to talk about it. Lessons focus entirely on what you want to learn.

Do lessons cover more than just the Quran?

Yes, when you want them to. Alongside reading and Salah, your teacher can cover the basics of Islamic Studies, belief, and everyday practice.

Is there a free trial before I commit to anything?

Yes. Every new student gets one free trial lesson with a real teacher, no card required and no obligation to continue afterwards.
